A New Home for Berlin's Creative Cool
11/2020 -Bobbi Steele
A modern glass facade peels back to reveal the new face of Nook. Set in a contemporary building in the bustling Mitte district 2 minutes away from Hackescher Markt by feet, Nook’s distinct exterior is an ode to the trendy and vibrant neighbourhood. The full-length windows welcome sunlight into the 56 newly furnished rooms and suites. As our lighthouse property, Nook celebrates numa's creativity and aesthetics. Our design philosophy is grounded in infusing the property with a fresh sense of contemporaneity.
This urban hideaway was reborn in October 2020. Inspired by the dazzling 70s, we are bringing back the bold colours to our interior concept. The result is a palette found in nature that is wholesome and comforting for the inner wellbeing. Eclectic shades defined by beautiful geometric shapes emit a warm and inviting atmosphere. The furniture is awash in wooden texture and timeless design.
A strong sense of Berlin is also ingrained in the property's identity. Each light-filled apartment features regionally sourced water and coffee from the city's own original coffee roastery The Barn. For guests who wish to embrace hyper-local experiences, our experts have carefully selected a list of destinations and digital apps to give you access to your usual services, and many more activities to make your stay memorable.
Like all numa locations, Nook is designed to unite the comfort of a private home and the delight of a boutique experience. Our digital and contactless guest journey, powered by an electronic key system and 24/7 virtual concierge, aims to elevate your stay and provide hassle-free travel, allowing you to kick back and relax. Even without physical contact between our staff and guests, we strive to maintain high service standards and superior housekeeping, with professional cleaning abiding by the protocols in line with WHO recommendations. Your wellbeing whilst travelling to Berlin is our utmost priority.
Berlin is a city of culture and creativity. Alongside world-famous historical sites, such as the UNESCO-protected museum island and the domed Reichstag, each of the inner city neighbourhoods have their own unique atmosphere. Perched in the centre of the Mitte district, Nook offers a hipster posh vibe. Cultural sites, urban landscape, and high street fashion, the district of Mitte conveniently clusters all the best institutions next to each other.
The neighbourhood is a juxtaposition of the new and old Berlin. Elegant boulevards like Unter der Linden and Kurfrstendamm offer a glimpse into the capital's glamorous past. Alexanderplatz, with its communist architecture, provides a lowdown on GDR aesthetics. Indulge in a shopping spur or get inspired by world-class art galleries and museums.
Nook is your window to Berlin's most vibrant city life. Located in the heart of the city, the rooms on the higher floors host magnificent views of the German capital's architectural wonders. Book nowand enjoy the urban landscape from your own balcony and relish in the city life at numa's new lighthouse location.
