Roca - our eclectic location in Barcelona
12/2020 -Bobbi Steele
We are excited to announce that numa is bringing technology-enabled travel to Spain. Bursts of colour, culture and art combine to form the quaint atmosphere of Roca, numa’s first property in Spain in the iconic Eixample district of Barcelona. With its grid-like layout and Modernist buildings, the neighbourhood is known as the symbol of the 20th century.
Roca embodies the historic ambience of the district with balconies overlooking the bustling streets of cafes, restaurants and bars. The rooms are designed to match the vibrant culture of the city with a retro-chic interior that creates a seamless transition between visits to architectural masterpieces and getting ready to experience the lively and exciting nightlife. The nostalgic design complemented by vintage furniture and decorative objects takes you back in time. The eclecticism is on full display with statement colours, funky art pieces, and a mix of contrasting textures. Within walking distance, you will find Passeig De Gracia, one of the most famous streets in Barcelona with endless possibilities for shopping, tapas and dining.
Barcelona was home to some of the most famous artists, business founders and creatives in the world. Examples are the world-famous architect Antoni Gaudí whose works are known globally. Seven of his masterpieces are located in Barcelona and are also UNESCO world heritage sites. Three of these are conveniently located within walking distance of Roca like the Segrada Familia, Casa Batlló and La Pedrera.
Like all numa locations, Roca is designed to unite the comfort of a private home and the delight of a boutique experience. Our digital and contactless guest journey, powered by an electronic key system and 24/7 virtual concierge, aims to elevate your stay and provide hassle-free travel, allowing you to kick back and relax. Even without physical contact between our staff and guests, we strive to maintain high service standards and superior housekeeping, with professional cleaning abiding by the protocols in line with WHO recommendations. Your wellbeing whilst travelling to Barcelona is our utmost priority.
Roca provides the perfect getaway for those looking to embrace the spectacular and enchanting culture that the city has to offer. The rich history and culture are all part of Roca’s modern design that provides a refuge for modern travellers looking for authentic experiences in numa’s first location in Spain.
